Job Summary:

We are looking for a service underwriter for a large lawn and landscape supply service center. The preferred candidate should have experience in customer service and a mechanical aptitude. Being bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus. The candidate will be responsible for: Answer phone calls. Accept service orders. Ask relevant questions to customers and enter their information into tickets to ensure accurate documentation of necessary repairs. Look up required parts using company software or the internet as needed. Create estimates based on technicians' recommendations. Present estimates to customers in a professional manner and promote any needed work. Distribute parts to technicians. Finalize completed tickets. Contact manufacturers when technical advice is required. Check out customers at the end of billing. File necessary paperwork.

Requirements:

Possesses strong customer service skills and exhibits self-confidence. Demonstrates working knowledge of MS Outlook, Office, and Excel. Capable of learning the company's point of sale software. Utilizes the internet to find user and parts manuals. Holds prior mechanical knowledge, with previous experience in customer service or sales considered a plus. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required. Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds frequently. Proficient at multitasking in a busy environment. This position is in a workshop setting, which may entail exposure to extreme temperatures and chemical and exhaust fumes.
