Job Description

Marine Yard Technician Shipwright Harbor Marina and Rockhold Creek Marina are looking for a dependable, hardworking Marine Yard Technician to join our service team. Marina or boatyard experience is preferred but not required; we are willing to train the right candidate. This position offers the opportunity to grow into an Equipment Operator role, with training to operate two travel lifts, a forklift, and a hydraulic boat trailer. The Marine Yard Technician will also assist with general marina operations, facility maintenance, and repairs. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist with towing, hauling, launching, and moving boats using marina equipment. Pressure wash boat bottoms and assist with short-haul services. Block, stand, secure, and move boats for land storage. Assist marine technicians with basic boat maintenance and service projects. Maintain and repair docks, grounds, buildings, bathhouses, and common areas. Assist with dock and slip maintenance, including replacing boards, cleats, and other hardware. Help maintain marina equipment, tools and work areas. Assist customers with docking, launching, and other marina needs. Keep the boatyard, shop, docks, and marina grounds clean, organized, and safe. Follow all marina safety procedures when operating equipment and working around boats. Assist with seasonal marina projects and general property maintenance. Help set up and break down marina events and activities as needed. Provide friendly and professional assistance to slipholders and marina guests. Perform other marina, boatyard, and facility duties as assigned. Qualifications Marina or boatyard experience is preferred but not required. Mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools are a plus. Ability and willingness to learn to operate marina equipment. Comfortable working around boats, docks, water, and heavy equipment. Ability to perform physically demanding work and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team. Strong attention to safety and willingness to follow established procedures. Valid driver's license is required. This is a hands-on position with an opportunity to learn the marina industry, develop equipment-operation skills, and grow within our service team.
