Job Description

Job Summary Marine Sales and Service dealer seeks a Marine Service Tech / Shop Forman to help build our New Boat Sales, Service and Repower business. This role involves Rigging Pre-delivery inspection, warranty, customer pay service and supporting the Sales Operations To deliver new boats. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in outboard engine service, with specific skills in Mercury, Yamaha and or Suzuki outboard service and rigging. Duties Conduct the daily operations of the marine service department including new boat rigging, PDI, and Service. Oversee and assist the service writer in estimating, and customer communication Manage and train junior service techs and yard staff while promoting a culture of excellence. Provide scheduling and work order flow for rigging and service work in order to provide visibility to sales Coordinate with new boat sales staff to enhance client satisfaction and retention. Maintain accurate records of services performed technician hours utilized for both internal and customer pay billing. Oversee new boat warrantee repairs and assist in manufacturer billing Manage inventory levels for parts and supplies. Troubleshoot mechanical and electronics issues and provide customer guidance on repairs as needed. Collaborate with sales teams to drive revenue growth through effective marketing strategies. Skills Minimum of 3 years experience as a service tech Outboard Engine and electronics repair Excellent customer service skills to foster positive relationships with clients. Qualifications Manufacturer's certifications in Mercury, Yamaha and or Suzuki Outboard engines Detailed knowledge of Garmin and Simrad Electronics Minimum five years experience as a service technician Computer literate Clean driving record ability to load, transport, launch and sea trial boats Strong work ethic
