This full-time contract opportunity offers the chance to make a difference in the lives of high school students by providing personalized medical care while ensuring safe, comfortable travel to and from school and attentive support during the school day.
Key Qualifications:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (out-of-state licenses considered; assistance available for obtaining MD licensure) Recent experience in pediatric, school, or relevant nursing environments Familiarity with G-tube feeding, seizure protocols, oxygen delivery, nebulizer/inhaler use, medication administration, and suctioning Ability to provide compassionate, detail-oriented nursing care to students with complex health needs Reliable transportation and readiness to accompany students on daily bus routes Strong communication skills and a commitment to collaboration with families, school staff, and other healthcare providers Two completed professional references
Responsibilities:
Accompany a high school student on the bus between their home and school, ensuring safety and health monitoring during transit Support additional students in need of nursing care during the school day, or in Talbot County if primary students are absent Monitor and respond to medical needs including G-tube care, seizure management, oxygen and medication administration, and emergency protocols Maintain meticulous documentation and effective communication with families and staff Provide general nursing care and remain flexible in adapting to students daily schedules as needed This full-time position averages approximately 37 hours per week, typically running from 6:30 am to around 3:304:00 pm (occasionally slightly earlier or later).
