These systems include:
DC Electrical Charging & Distribution, AC Electrical, Engines, Generators, Water Makers, Navigation Electronics, Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Heating, Communications, and more. This role may also be referred to as Technician (Electrician). Safe Harbor Great Island Systems Technicians will be trained through a combination of mentoring, ABYC courses, and OEM Product Training to develop their knowledge of: maintenance procedures; installation application requirements; and troubleshooting using both computer interfaces and diagnostic equipment such as multi-meters, refrigeration gauge sets, and product specific tooling. Systems Technicians execute annual decommissioning and recommissioning procedures on the vessels stored at Safe Harbor Great Island. These procedures are iPad based and guide the technician through the process while capturing critical data for the customer. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Inspect, maintain, and repair boats of all kindsUtilize diagnostic equipment to test and repair and test electrical systemsTroubleshoot, test, repair, replace, remove and install vessel systems and componentsConduct thorough assessment prior to starting a job including; acknowledging the budgeted time and time frame for completion, repairing the system and the element requiring service, sourcing parts if requiredOverall knowledge of marine systems including electrical, plumbing & water systemsUtilize NMEA 200 and other protocols on vessel operating systemsAssign parts and purchases to the appropriate work ordersMust possess own toolsAvailability to work overtime in order to meet deadlinesOther duties as assigned by Manager Safety and Environmental Responsibilities Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.

Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area.

Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.
