Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Marine Boat Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing water transportation equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient marine operations. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of marine engines, electrical systems, and mechanical components, applying your technical expertise to keep vessels operating at peak performance. Your hands-on skills will directly contribute to the safety and success of watercraft operations across diverse environments. Duties Diagnose and repair marine propulsion systems, engines, and mechanical systems using schematics, technical drawings, and engineering troubleshooting techniques Perform electrical diagnostics and maintenance on ship electrical systems, including troubleshooting marine electrical systems and wiring harnesses Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on water transportation equipment utilizing hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, calipers, and precision measuring instruments Interpret technical drawings and schematics to assemble, fabricate, or modify components such as sheet metal parts or rigging assemblies Use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately during all maintenance activities to ensure safety standards are met Maintain documentation of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities in compliance with operational procedures Assist in the fabrication and installation of mechanical or electrical components for vessel upgrades or repairs Requirements Proven service technician experience with mechanical and electrical systems in marine or vehicle maintenance environments Strong understanding of marine engine repair, propulsion systems maintenance, and ship electrical systems troubleshooting Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering troubleshooting guides accurately Familiarity with water transportation equipment maintenance standards and safety protocols including PPE use Hands-on experience with maintenance, repair & operations (MRO), assembly processes, and the use of power tools for mechanical or electrical repairs Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members or clients This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to apply their mechanical knowledge in a challenging marine environment.
