Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Marine Technician / Boat Mechanic to join an established marine service company in the greater East Texas lake region. This is a hands-on position for a technician who can confidently diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, service, and maintain BOTH inboard and outboard marine engines independently. This is not an entry-level position. Candidates must have professional marine engine repair experience and hands-on experience with both propulsion types. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair inboard and outboard marine engines Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, fuel, ignition, starting, charging, and cooling-system issues Perform marine engine diagnostics using diagnostic equipment Complete tune-ups, oil changes, impeller replacement, lower-unit service, and other routine maintenance Read service manuals, technical information, and wiring diagrams Test engines after repairs to confirm proper operation Document completed repairs and service Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area Work independently to diagnose problems and complete repairs accurately Requirements 3+ years of professional marine engine repair experience required Experience with BOTH inboard and outboard engines required Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Experience diagnosing mechanical and electrical problems Experience using marine diagnostic equipment Ability to complete repairs independently with minimal supervision Familiarity with major marine engine manufacturers preferred Must have your own mechanic tools Valid Driver's License High School Diploma or GED Must pass a background check Must reliably commute to the job location
Pay:
$22.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week Application Question(s): Do you have at least 3 years of professional marine engine repair experience?
