Job Description
Big Water Marine | Pottsboro, TX | Full-Time Big Water Marine is looking for a Marine Service Technician to join our growing service team on Lake Texoma. We're a full-service marine dealership working with Scout, Highfield, Berkshire, and Veranda , in addition to servicing customer-owned boats, trade-ins, consignment inventory, and rental fleets for local marina partners. This is a hands-on, full-time position for someone who knows their way around engines and mechanical systems, enjoys troubleshooting problems, and takes pride in getting the job done correctly. You don't necessarily have to come from the marine industry. If you're an experienced automotive technician with strong mechanical skills and you're interested in transitioning into marine service, we'd like to talk to you. What You'll Do You'll work alongside our service team on a variety of boats and marine systems. Responsibilities may include routine maintenance and service, diagnostics and troubleshooting, engine and mechanical repairs, electrical troubleshooting, preparing boats for sale or delivery, inspecting trade and consignment boats, and servicing customer and marina fleet vessels. Because no two boats—or days—are exactly alike, we're looking for someone who can diagnose a problem, communicate what they find, and work efficiently toward a solution. You'll also help keep the service area organized, properly document completed work, communicate parts or repair needs to the team, and assist with moving, launching, retrieving, or testing boats when needed. What We're Looking For Minimum 1 year of professional marine service OR automotive technician experience Marine experience is preferred, but strong automotive technicians are encouraged to apply Working knowledge of engines, mechanical systems, and basic electrical diagnostics Ability to troubleshoot rather than simply replace parts Must have your own basic/start-up set of technician tools Ability to safely operate hand and power tools Comfortable working indoors and outdoors throughout the year Able to perform the physical requirements of marine service work, including lifting, bending, climbing, and working in tight spaces Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Strong attention to detail Dependable and able to work independently while also being part of a larger service team Experience with outboard engines, marine electrical systems, rigging, trailers, or fiberglass boats is a plus. What Makes This Job Different You're not going to work on the same thing every day. One week might include servicing a customer's boat, diagnosing an issue on a trade-in, getting a new boat ready for delivery, and helping one of our marina partners keep its rental fleet on the water. You'll work with multiple boat brands, different systems, and a team that's involved in nearly every side of the marine industry on Lake Texoma. This is a full-time, year-round position based at Big Water Marine in Pottsboro, Texas.
