Job Description
Adventure Marine & Powersports is seeking an experienced and skilled Marine Technician to join our growing service team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who enjoys diagnosing problems, completing quality repairs, and seeing a project through from diagnosis to completion. Our technicians work on a wide variety of marine systems, including engines, electrical and electronic systems, steering, hydraulics, propulsion, and boat handling equipment. Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain marine systems, including gasoline and diesel engines. Diagnose and repair fuel management and engine electrical systems. Troubleshoot and repair marine electrical, electronic, and navigation systems. Diagnose and service steering, hydraulic, drive, and propulsion systems. Perform pre-delivery engine inspections on new and pre-owned watercraft. Complete engine tune-ups, maintenance, and mechanical repairs. Diagnose and resolve boat handling and related equipment issues. Perform repairs and installations according to manufacturer specifications and dealership standards. Assist with customization and installation projects as needed. Accurately document diagnostic findings, repairs, parts, and labor. Communicate effectively with service writers and other members of the service team regarding repair status and recommended work. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Manage time and workload effectively to maintain productivity and meet service deadlines. Continue developing technical knowledge through manufacturer training and continuing education. Qualifications Previous experience as a marine technician or marine mechanic is required. Experience working with Mercury, MerCruiser, Volvo Penta, PCM, GM, or Ford Raptor engines is strongly preferred. Strong understanding of marine engine systems and the ability to independently diagnose, repair, and maintain them. Knowledge of marine electrical, hydraulic, steering, propulsion, and electronic systems. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and effectively manage time and workload. Ability to communicate clearly with service writers and other team members. Must have your own basic hand tools; specialized tools are provided. Commitment to performing quality work and maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
