This person will be responsible for safe, efficient, reliable, and environmentally compliant deckhand duties. This is a full-time, entry-level position with a rotating schedule. Position Essential Job Functions Responsible for getting underway, mooring, anchoring, and line-handling in all weather conditions. Assist with the towing, deploying, and stowing of the oil containment boom Control lines to moor vessel to wharves, tie up vessel to another vessel, or rig towing lines. Splice and repair cables and ropes using hand tools Boom and Fender maintenance Perform lookout duties while underway, including watching for other vessels, monitoring traffic conditions and potentially unsafe conditions onboard, and other such duties. Keep the vessel and equipment maintained by performing various maintenance and cleaning duties. Maintain clear communication with the Vessel Operator. Ensure that safety equipment is utilized and appropriate guidelines are followed for all tasks involving physical risk or hazardous materials. Carry out and complete assigned tasks within the legal requirements of USCG and other regulatory agencies. Participate in meetings, training, drills, and safety audits as required by USCG & Global's policy. Read, understand, and comply with all company policies and applicable federal, state, and industry regulations. Ensure full understanding of the duties of every job you are working on. Drive company vehicles as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent) Required Qualifications Must be 18 years or older All employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen Must be able to pass a DOT physical Carry a valid Driver's License and valid car insurance Experience 1+ years of Maritime experience(preferred) Required Certifications & Credentials
