The store is open Monday through Saturday and closed on Sunday. Typically, tire technicians work 5 of the 6 days and have a scheduled day off during the week. It is expected tire techs work around 46 - 48 hours per week and overtime is paid in accordance with law. Payroll is weekly and many benefits are offered including paid time off, 401K with company match, Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance with the company contributing towards premiums, free life insurance, (employee paid) dental, vision and disability coverage. Tire technicians are eligible for monthly commissions and monthly/yearly bonuses when store meets sales expectations.

JOB DUTIES

Inspect, remove, mount, repair and install tires safely, correctly and efficiently. Move tires from location to location as needed (rolling tires & lifting tires). Interact with customers, the tire shop manager, and the sales staff as needed. Communicate to tire shop manager observed wear and tear on tires and observed brake issues. Maintain a clean, safe work environment including wearing safety glasses AND following all federal, state, and location safety regulations. Attend safety meetings and report any safety concerns to management. Ensure tools and equipment are working properly and report issues to management. Ensure chemicals and other liquids are stored and handled properly Provide friendly and quality customer service and follow written and oral instructions from management. Assist with inventory counts and verifications. All other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS

In an automotive shop environment, you may be exposed to the following fumes: tire and brake dust, oil fumes, gasoline fumes, solvent fumes, cleaner fumes, and fumes related to automobiles. There are occasional slippery surfaces, uneven concrete floors, and a noisy environment that comes from automotive work. Physical requirements (ADA): Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or uneven surfaces for several hours at a time, without break. Surfaces are typically concrete and shop temperature does vary with the weather outside. Must be able to bend at the knees, bend at the elbows, grasp or handle objects, push objects forward, use finger dexterity, flex wrist and reach above/below shoulders. Ability to bend knees to position oneself near the ground in a motion to install or remove a tire. This also requires the flexibility in shoulders and arms to pull or push tire onto bolts of the wheel. Infrequent, but required to lift up to 130 pound tires and/ or wheels and carry short distances and lift from floor up to 42 inches to fit on the vehicle and the same process in reverse. May be required to push or roll tires and some equipment up to over one hundred feet. Ability to bend at the waist and knees and back consistent with motion to roll or move tire and equipment. Required to visually match tires to an inventory list, sales ticket, etc. At times, will sit or squat for up to 20 minutes while installing or removing tires. From this position, will lean forward and side to side( flexing back, torso and waist) to accomplish task.
