1st Shift | Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (Busy season may include a half-day Saturday)
Pay Rate:
$18.00/hour
Position Overview:
The Vision Companies is seeking a dependable and motivated Tire Technician to join a well-established automotive service team in Minneapolis, MN. This position is responsible for performing tire services, maintaining inventory, and ensuring every vehicle is serviced safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment while providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Tire Service & Vehicle Support Mount, dismount, rotate, and balance tires on passenger and light-duty vehicles Inspect tires for wear, damage, and defects, recommending repairs or replacements as needed Repair flat tires and replace valve stems Operate tire mounting machines, balancers, and other shop equipment safely and efficiently Assist with general automotive service tasks as assigned Inventory & Shop Operations Organize and maintain tire inventory Keep workstations clean, organized, and safe Properly maintain shop equipment and tools Follow all company safety procedures and industry standards Customer Service Communicate professionally with customers regarding tire conditions and recommended services Work closely with service advisors and technicians to ensure quality workmanship Deliver outstanding customer service throughout each interaction
Qualifications:
Required High School Diploma or GED Valid driver's license with a good driving record Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Strong communication and customer service skills Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Safety-conscious with excellent attention to detail Preferred Previous tire technician or automotive service experience Familiarity with tire-changing equipment, wheel balancers, and basic hand tools
Working Conditions:
Automotive service shop environment with both indoor and outdoor work Frequent exposure to vehicle noise, shop equipment, and machinery Fast-paced environment requiring teamwork and attention to detail Occasional Saturday work during peak business seasons
Physical Requirements:
Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the workday Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Manual dexterity to safely operate tire service equipment and hand tools Ability to work in varying weather conditions when moving vehicles or assisting customers
