Job Description
Overview We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Cell Tower Climber to join our team in Sacramento, CA. This role involves working at heights on telecommunications towers to install, maintain, and repair critical communication infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience with climbing, rigging, and telecommunication systems, including fiber splicing and working with high and low voltage equipment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the expansion of 5G, 4G/LTE, and other wireless networks while ensuring safety and quality standards are met. Responsibilities Climb telecommunications towers using appropriate safety equipment and techniques Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of cell tower components including antennas, cabling, and fiber splicing Operate bucket trucks and bucket operation equipment for accessing elevated work sites Conduct rigging and cabling tasks necessary for tower upgrades or new installations Work with high voltage, low voltage, and fiber optic systems adhering to safety protocols Assist in the setup of field service operations related to telecommunication infrastructure Ensure all work complies with industry standards for safety and quality Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while maintaining a safe work environment Qualifications Proven experience in climbing towers or working at heights in a telecommunication or construction environment Knowledge of high voltage, low voltage, fiber splicing, and cabling techniques Familiarity with 5G, 4G/LTE, 3G technologies, and related telecommunication systems Ability to operate bucket trucks and perform bucket operation tasks safely Skills in welding, rigging, and field service operations are preferred Strong understanding of safety procedures related to tower climbing and electrical work Physical fitness to climb towers regularly and work at heights for extended periods Valid certification or equivalent preferred Ability to work in various weather conditions and adhere to safety standards This position is vital for maintaining reliable wireless communication networks. Candidates must prioritize safety while demonstrating technical proficiency in telecommunication infrastructure.
