Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Tower Technician to join our team in outdoor telecommunications infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing cell towers and related equipment, ensuring compliance with all safety standards and technical specifications. This role involves working at heights, operating specialized equipment, and adhering to strict safety protocols to deliver reliable wireless communication services across various networks including 3G, 4G/LTE, and 5G. Candidates should have extensive field service experience, construction knowledge, and proficiency with telecommunications testing equipment. Trillium Tower Development excels in a wide range of tower services, including tower construction and decommissioning, comprehensive gin pole work from small to large scale projects, installation and maintenance of microwave point-to-point systems, AM/FM broadcast services, TV broadcast systems, tower modifications and upgrades, guy wire inspections and replacements, plumb and tension, TIA tower inspections, site audits, and tower maintenance. Duties Install, troubleshoot, and maintain cell tower infrastructure including antennas, cabling, and RF equipment. Perform antenna tower climbing and work at high angles using proper fall protection gear and tower climbing techniques. Operate bucket trucks and bucket operation equipment for elevated work tasks safely and efficiently. Conduct fiber splicing, RF testing, and radio frequency (RF) testing to ensure optimal network performance. Implement construction safety standards in accordance with OSHA regulations and federal construction safety regulations. Follow blueprint specifications for installation projects and ensure all work aligns with technical plans. Use hand tools, telecommunications testing equipment, rigging gear, and telecommunication fall protection gear during daily operations. Execute high-voltage, low-voltage wiring, welding tasks, and cabling installations as required by project scope. Perform high-angle rescue operations when necessary to ensure team safety during tower work. Maintain detailed documentation of work performed and communicate progress to project managers. Adhere strictly to safety protocols including OSHA standards, construction fall protection systems, and telecommunication fall protection gear. Qualifications Proven experience working as a cell tower technician or in outdoor telecommunications field service roles. Strong knowledge of high voltage, low voltage wiring, fiber splicing, antenna tower climbing, and RF testing procedures. Experience with 3G, 4G/LTE, and 5G network implementation is highly desirable. Skilled in the use of hand tools, telecommunication testing equipment, rigging gear, bucket trucks, and bucket operation. Familiarity with construction experience including blueprint reading and following specifications accurately. Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations and OSHA safety standards related to tower work. Ability to perform climbing activities safely using proper fall protection systems; experience with tower climbing is essential. Capable of working at heights in high-angle rescue operations while maintaining safety protocol adherence. Outdoor work experience with exposure to varying weather conditions is preferred. Valid certifications in tower climbing or RF testing are a plus; willingness to obtain necessary certifications if not already held. Pay:
$20.00 - $35.00 per hour
