High school diploma or GED Driver's License First Aid Certification Rigging Full Job Description Job Description Job Purpose A tower technician is responsible for the construction and climbing tower structures such as Lattice towers, Mono-poles, Guyed towers, Grain elevators and Commercial Buildings. Qualifications Requires working knowledge of Microwave equipment Troubleshoot and fix connectors and Antenna system Ability to terminate data cables Experience in completing full grounding installations, tower demolition Knowledge of standard knots Team Player Job Function Statement As a Tower Climber Technician, you will be responsible for a full range of installation, repair and maintenance services on towers including but not limited to: Climbs and works on communications towers for the purpose of installing, replacing, and repairing antenna systems equipment Basic use and care of hand tools and mechanical equipment Completes required Job Safety Analysis Knowledgeable with the hazards associated with tower climbing, construction equipment, and working on or near energized lines and equipment Ability to climb tall structures (300 feet or more) with 20 lb. load Analyzes situations accurately and adopts an appropriate course of action Recognizes safety hazards and performs duties in a safe manner Maintains clean, orderly environment adhering to company policies and industry regulation/standard(s) (OSHA) Knowledge of custom tower rigging techniques Performs tape drops Performs GPS antenna alignment Proficient with installation of antenna, RRH's, ground kits, RET systems Basic knowledge of microwave dish and radio installations and path alignment Ability to complete closeout packages according to field requirements Minimum Job Requirements Valid state driver's license with a good driving record Be able to pass drug and alcohol screening Be able to pass a background check Authorized to work in the United States Available to work after hours Available to work weekends if needed Punctual and consistent job attendance Physical Demands Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Ability to work outside in inclement weather Ability to work in dusty environments Ability to work in confined spaces Ability to work on and around heavy equipment
