Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Striping Technician to join our construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying pavement markings and striping on various construction projects, ensuring safety, durability, and compliance with all relevant standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors on vital infrastructure projects, contributing to the safety and efficiency of highways, roads, and parking lots. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation, traffic control, and construction site procedures, all while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality. You will also be installing signs, wheel stops and occasionally doing seal coats. Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and front loader trucks to prepare surfaces for striping and paving activities. Apply pavement markings using specialized tools and power equipment, ensuring precise lines and adherence to project specifications. Set up traffic control measures for work zones to ensure safety for workers and motorists alike. Conduct routine inspections of equipment and tools, performing minor mechanical adjustments or maintenance as needed. Assist with site preparation tasks including excavation, grading, and surface cleaning to facilitate accurate striping application. Follow all safety protocols in accordance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and company policies during outdoor work activities. Collaborate with project managers and other team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards. Requirements Proven experience operating heavy machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, and front loader trucks in a construction environment. Knowledge of road construction processes including paving, highway maintenance, and traffic control for work zones. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely on outdoor construction sites. Familiarity with FMCSA regulations related to commercial truck driving and transportation safety. Mechanical knowledge of power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and basic maintenance procedures. Prior experience working on construction projects or civil infrastructure roles is highly preferred. Strong understanding of safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and construction site safety standards. Excellent outdoor work experience with the ability to adapt to varying weather conditions. Knowledge of Caterpillar machinery is a plus but not required; training will be provided if necessary.
