Job Title:

FlaggerPosition Summary The Flagger is responsible for directing and controlling the safe movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic through construction zones, and roadway work sites. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safety of workers, motorists, and the public by maintaining traffic flow and adhering to established safety regulations and procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Direct and control traffic using hand signals, signs, paddles, flags, and other approved traffic control devices. Ensure the safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians through work zones and designated areas. Communicate effectively with crew members, supervisors, and other flaggers to coordinate traffic movements. Monitor traffic conditions and adjust traffic control methods as necessary to maintain safety and efficiency. Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices, including signs, cones, barricades, and warning markers. Observe and report unsafe conditions, accidents, or incidents to supervisors immediately. Follow all federal, state, local, and company safety regulations and procedures. Assist with site cleanup and other labor-related duties as assigned. Remain alert and attentive to changing traffic patterns and potential hazards at all times. Provide courteous and professional interactions with the public. QualificationsRequired High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Reliable transportation and punctual attendance. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for long periods, often 8-12 hours per shift. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind. Ability to see and hear approaching traffic and communicate clearly with others. Ability to walk on uneven terrain and navigate active work zones safely. Work Environment Outdoor work environment with exposure to traffic, construction equipment, noise, dust, and changing weather conditions. Flexible schedule may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Pay:

$15.00 per hour
