Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Certified Traffic Control Flagger and play a vital role in ensuring safety and smooth traffic flow around roadway construction and civil infrastructure projects. In this energetic position, you will be responsible for directing vehicular and pedestrian traffic in work zones, maintaining safety protocols, and supporting heavy equipment operators. Your expertise will help protect workers, motorists, and pedestrians while contributing to efficient project completion. Duties Set up and maintain clear, visible traffic control signs, barriers, and flagging stations to guide vehicles and pedestrians safely through work zones Direct traffic using standardized hand signals, flags, or stop/slow paddles in accordance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations Coordinate with construction crews and heavy equipment operators to ensure safe movement of machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, and front loader trucks Monitor work zones continuously for safety hazards or non-compliance with safety protocols and address issues promptly Assist in roadway maintenance activities including paving, grading, welding, and highway repairs while adhering to safety standards Conduct routine inspections of traffic control devices and equipment; perform minor repairs or notify maintenance teams as needed Support heavy lifting and manual handling tasks using hand tools or power tools while following proper safety procedures Requirements Valid certification as a Traffic Control Flagger with comprehensive knowledge of FMCSA regulations and safety protocols Proven experience working on construction sites within civil infrastructure projects or roadway construction environments Familiarity with heavy equipment operation including dozer, loader, backhoe, grader, dump truck, front loader truck, and other construction machinery such as Caterpillar models Mechanical knowledge related to construction tools, power tools, welding techniques, and roadway maintenance equipment Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely over extended outdoor work shifts in various weather conditions Strong understanding of construction site safety standards and adherence to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and directing traffic effectively Prior experience working with road construction projects involving asphalt paving or highway maintenance is highly desirable Join us in creating safer roads while advancing your career in a fast-paced construction environment!
