Overview Join our dynamic team as a Night shift Switchman and play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of rail traffic. In this energetic position, you will be responsible for managing train movements, operating track switches, and maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols. Your expertise will help uphold rail transportation safety regulations while supporting smooth train operations across busy rail corridors. Responsibilities Operate track switches and signals to direct train movements safely and efficiently according to established train track rules procedures. Monitor train operations, ensuring compliance with rail regulatory standards and safety protocols at all times. Use hand tools and heavy equipment to perform track inspections, maintenance, and adjustments as needed. Participate actively in safety training programs to uphold transportation safety regulations and hazard mitigation practices. Communicate effectively with train crews, dispatchers, and other team members to coordinate train movements and respond promptly to operational needs. Adhere strictly to personal protective equipment (PPE) use and hazardous materials regulations during all tasks. Support emergency response procedures by following safety protocol adherence guidelines during incidents or operational disruptions. Qualifications Military experience or background in transportation or logistics is highly valued. Demonstrated mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and operating heavy equipment. Familiarity with train operations, rail transportation, air brake systems, and train operation regulations. Knowledge of transportation safety regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and rail regulatory compliance standards. Ability to follow detailed safety training programs and strict safety protocol adherence practices. Strong understanding of train track rules procedures and safety practices related to rail transportation. Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment through consistent PPE use and hazard awareness.
