Job Description

The Portage County Engineer is accepting applications from persons interested in the full-time position of Highway Worker II. The selected candidate will operate medium to heavy duty dump trucks and a variety of light and medium motorized equipment to assist with the maintenance, construction and repair of county roads, bridges, and culverts; performs other duties as required. Rate of pay is $25.50 per hour with paid time off including vacation, sick leave, and holidays. Benefits include health, dental and vision. Minimum qualifications include training and/or work experience which indicates possession of the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities, usually one (1) to three (3) years related experience. Qualified candidates must possess a valid State of Ohio Class A Commercial Driver's License and must be available to work overtime during emergencies and as needed.
