Job Description
Gibson Technical Services, Inc. Coaxial Splicer and Sweep Techs - Job Description The ideal candidate must be Dependable, Experienced, Knowledgeable and able to safely work in a HFC Network Environment Candidates must be knowledgeable of and able to perform, but not limited to, the following:
- Bi-Directional Sweep and Certifications
- Ingress/Egress Mitigation
- Optical Node Bi-Directional Optimizations and Setups
- DOCSIS Performance Tools
- All Aspects of Line Repair and Testing
- ISP Optical Transmitters and Receivers
- ISP Combining and Distribution Networks
- Coaxial Installation, Splicing and Performance Testing
- Inclusive of all Line Actives and Passives
SDA-5000/DSAM-6300
/Viavi Digital Measurement and Testing Operation- TDR/FDR Operation
- Read OSP Design and Asbuild Maps with experience on the operation of the forward and return network
- Use customary CATV hand and power tools in performance of job duties
- Must be able to climb ladders, poles, or other structures as trained and qualified
- Operate and maintain assigned vehicle in accordance with Company guidelines
- Qualified to operate bucket truck, met DOT CMV qualifications
- Must have a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record according to insurance company requirements
- Lift and carry equipment or materials of up to 50 lbs. over uneven terrain
- Willingness to learn; adapt and accept increasing responsibility
- Performs other duties as assigned
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Exposure to varying temperatures as work is primarily outside.
- Noise levels are moderate to heavy.
- Work in different types of terrain including water, sand, and dirt.
- Varying degrees of light as work may begin early morning and continue in the evenings.
