- The Substation Journeyman performs highly skilled, journeyman-level electrical work in the operation, construction, maintenance, and repair of high voltage electric substations, and other related electrical and mechanical equipment associated with high voltage electric substations.
- Core Responsibilities
- + Works safely while performing new construction, maintenance or repair, testing, adjusting and troubleshooting work of substation equipment/systems which includes, but is not limited to, work involving the following: + Ground grids and steel erection + Buswork (High and Low Voltage) + Airbreak / Hookstick Switches + Control Cable + Terminations (High / Low Voltage) + Control Buildings + Conduit and duck banks + Capacitor bank installations 23kv- 230 kv + Transformers, regulators and circuit breakers + Circuit Switchers, motor-operated and manual switches + During installation and or maintenance, trouble shoot and correct malfunctions of all substation equipment.
- Minimum Qualifications
- + Obtain and maintain a valid State Class C driver's license. + Must have previous substation experience + Must be willing to travel around Central US.
- Preferred Qualifications
- + OSHA 10. + 4+ years of substation experience
- Physical Demands and Work Environment
- This job operates in a field environment.
