Position Requirements:

High school diploma or GED 5+ years in electric utility distribution operations, including system construction and maintenance Valid State of Texas Class A CDL and DOT medical card Journeyman Level Lineman certification Within 90 days of hire new employee must reside within 30 minutes of McGregor cooperative office Must be available for on-call rotation and emergency overtime as required; may be called into work at any time

CPR, AED & OSHA-10

certification preferred

Essential Duties:

Performs all necessary activities in the construction and maintenance of energized and de-energized overhead and underground distribution lines. Understands and uses safety and protective equipment appropriately. Observes and enforces all safety rules and standards, including those outlines by OSHA, DOT, EPA and the Cooperative policies and procedures. Install, maintain, remove and troubleshoot reclosers, voltage regulators and capacitors Understands multi-phase and primary metering including relevant calculations Operates digger derrick, bucket truck, forklift, pole trailer, skid loader, and other equipment as needed Responds to power outages and customer service issues, troubleshoots electrical problems, and retires or replaces outdates power lines, as needed.
