JOB OVERVIEW
The Splice Manager is responsible for the oversight and execution of new production splicing activities across Wire 3s assigned markets in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Alabama. Based out of Daytona Beach, FL, this role manages the splicing schedule end-to-end, coordinates post-splice testing with field technicians through the Wire 3 Portal, and ensures the quality of completed splicing work meets Wire 3 standards. The Splice Manager reports to the VP of OSP and serves as a key coordination point between the PMO and OSP Managers to keep splicing production aligned with overall project timelines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Review and oversee the master splicing schedule across active production areas, ensuring internal and contractor crews are sequenced efficiently and aligned with overall construction and turn-up timelinesSchedule field technicians for the post-splice testing process using the Wire 3 Portal, confirming testing is completed accurately and on scheduleQuality-check completed splicing work in the field and remotely, verifying compliance with Wire 3 splicing standards, testing thresholds, and documentation requirementsCoordinate with PMO and Engineering to review splice charts and lite paths, communicate splicing status, flag schedule risks, and resolve production bottlenecksIdentify root causes of failed or substandard splices and coordinate corrective action or re-work with the responsible crew or contractorTrack and report splicing production metrics including completion rates, test pass/fail rates, and schedule variance; report status to OSP leadershipEnsure proper documentation of splice closures, test results, and as-built records within the Wire 3 PortalConfirm safety and quality standards are followed by all splicing crews; escalate non-compliance as neededOther duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES
Strong working knowledge of fiber optic splicing methods, OTDR and light-level testing, and post-splice test proceduresExperience scheduling and managing distributed field technician crews across multiple marketsComfort working within project management and production tracking platforms such as the Wire 3 Portal or similar systemsStrong communication and coordination skills with the ability to work effectively across
PMO, OSP
Managers, and field crewsAbility to travel across Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Alabama markets as neededValid drivers license in good standing required; all tools required to perform the job are provided by the company
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
8+ years of experience in fiber optic splicing requiredPrior supervisory or lead experience strongly preferredHigh school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or vocational training in fiber optics a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This is a market-based role requiring regular travel across Wire 3s active construction markets in FL, GA, SC, and ALWork is performed in both field environments and remotely; must be able to work in outdoor conditions as requiredBased out of
