Immediately Job Description The Hallsville R-IV School District seeks an organized, experienced leader to assist with oversight of the maintenance and grounds departments. This is a full-time, 12-month position with district-paid health insurance.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Makes arrangements and schedules for the appropriate opening and closing of needed facilities Cross-collaboration with the administration team to coordinate the setup and removal of district events Communicates with district administrators and personnel in order to understand the problems or needs of the District's facilities Ensures all buildings and grounds are in excellent condition for students and staff Coordinates with the District Transportation and Operations Director to schedule all maintenance staff Assists with the management of the operations budget accounts in accordance with school policies and regulations Works with the district mechanic in establishing a regular maintenance schedule for all vehicles Assists with the approval of timesheets and employee leave in accordance with school policies, and assists the payroll department with accurate timekeeping documentation Assists the Director of Transportation and Operations with the employment and performance evaluation process of all assigned personnel Analyze staffing requirements for direct reports and make hiring recommendations to the director of transportation and operations Provide and maintain proper bidding, ordering, storing, and maintaining a current inventory of all district operational equipment Assists the superintendent with monitoring weather conditions for early dismissal or school cancellations In conjunction with the superintendent, takes a lead role in all District construction and repair projects Plans and supervises the scheduling of work and special projects during the summer and winter breaks Assures efficient and cost-effective maintenance of departmental operations Available for District emergencies such as procedures following a storm, snow removal, and maintenance emergencies. Assumes other responsibilities and duties as they are assigned by the superintendent or the Board of Education. Support the implementation of PBIS strategies to promote positive behavior and a safe, respectful learning environment for students.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum:
High School Diploma or equivalent; Proof of valid Missouri state motor vehicle operator's license; good driving record; Ability to maintain a cooperative and positive relationship with other people.
Preferred:
High School Diploma; Knowledge of or willingness to learn playground construction and maintenance, concrete, asphalt, construction and snow, and ice removal; Self-motivated; Have a positive history working in a group environment; excellent driving record Ideal candidate will have a professional and friendly demeanor with a demonstrated ability to work well with a variety of individuals in a fast-paced environment. Language:

Physicals Demands:

The employee is frequently required to reach, climb, bend, squat, stoop and kneel; The employee continuously uses hand strength to grasp and use tools and climb ladders; The employee must frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds; The employee will frequently push or pull items such as desks, furniture, and mechanical equipment; Specific vision requirements include close and peripheral vision and depth perception. These are essential functions of the job.
Attendance:
Consistent and regular attendance is an essential duty of this position.
Conditions and Environment:
The duties of this job require the employee to regularly works both indoors and outdoors; The employee may work in inclement weather, extreme heat and cold temperatures; The employee will work near or with moving mechanical equipment; The employee may occasionally work with toxic or caustic chemicals.
