Job Description

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring production equipment and all related areas are designed and operating in a manner that meets or exceeds requirements. To ensure that engineering projects and preventative maintenance systems and processes are implemented to optimize operations and to ensure cost effectiveness.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• (but not limited to): • Manufacturing, Warehouse, Office, and Building Maintenance Unexpected breakdowns (priority) All equipment maintenance (PM'S), and lubrication. Follow preventive Maintenance Program. All mechanical issues Fire protection and work safety Experience in electrical, and piping (air, water, etc.) is a plus. All outside services must be authorized by management in writing. All outside contractors must be escorted through the premises and directed to the problem location. Outside individuals are not allowed to wonder around the plant, and mechanic is responsible for them until services are finished. Cleaning of coils (Refrigeration Units) Special projects/repairs will be assigned as requested by either GM or other managers. Responsible for maintaining stock of basic parts (equipment) for backup and other projects. SAFETY; Safety First; Employee is expected to perform his work in a safety manner at all times: Company safety rules must be followed (always). Safety protective equipment (provided) is a must wear (not optional).

Work Quality and Efficiency :
Communicate any emergencies ASAP to management team. Expected to be time efficient, and to finish the work on a reasonable time frame depending on task. If parts are needed, move on to the next task unless it is critical. One-time fix. Temporary fixes are only allowed while parts arrive. When fixing any equipment personal safety and food safety should be covered. Planned days off or vacations are to be requested ahead of time, and pre-approved by plant manager. Because of the nature of the business personal hygiene is extremely important to address, especially when working in the manufacturing area. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices. Wear hair net, coat and clean latex gloves when working on equipment. No jewelry of any kind; including wrist watches and rings. No eating or chewing gum in the production area.
Note:
We have the following shifts available: Monday through Friday (Occasional Saturdays) 1st Shift 3:00am-11:30am 2nd Shift 11:00am-7:30pm All work assignments or priorities will be coordinated with Manager until they are clearly understood and can be handled and prioritized by maintenance team. Production and other applicable departments down time (due to maintenance activities) will be documented and reported by the affected department and looked at to improve efficiency performance and to correct any deficiencies. Daily task log report is to be filled out daily before going home with the purpose of improving and correcting any deficiencies as well as addressing any issues as necessary.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to pass a drug screen. Minimum of 5+ Years' Experience. Ability to multi-task, and cross train in a fast-paced environment. Good team working skills, and the ability to work efficiently with little or no supervision Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills. Reliable, and ability to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays. Must possess some computer skills (Word and Excel). Self-motivated, take initiative, and pride in work. Maintain excellent attendance.
EDUCATION NEEDED
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to spend the majority of the work shift standing, walking, bending and occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. Must be able to work long hours in a cold/hot/wet environment (approximately 40º), and exposure to chemicals.
