Job Description

Maintenance Person 2000 Byrnebruk Drive, Champaign, IL 61822 $35 an hour - Part-time $35 an hour - Part-time Facilities Maintenance Technician (Part-Time) — Private Country Club Summary Join our team to help keep our Club's buildings, grounds, and amenities in top condition. This part-time role supports daily maintenance, repairs, and special projects across interior and exterior spaces, including seasonal pool operations. Key Responsibilities Perform routine and reactive maintenance: doors, windows, lighting, plumbing fixtures, minor electrical (e.g., outlets, switches), HVAC filter changes, and general repairs.
Complete basic carpentry tasks:
drywall patching, trim work, door hardware, shelving, and minor framing/repairs.
Handle painting and finishing:
prep, patch, prime, and paint interior and exterior surfaces to club-quality standards.
Support pool operations:
daily water testing, chemical adjustments, backwashing/cleaning filters, skimming/vacuuming, equipment checks, and seasonal opening/closing. Light plumbing and electrical repairs Maintain exterior areas: pressure washing, light landscaping touch-ups, debris removal, signage/fixture upkeep, and walkway safety. Assist with event setups and takedowns: moving furniture/equipment and ensuring spaces are guest-ready.
Conduct inspections and document work:
identify hazards, log completed tasks, and escalate larger issues to leadership. Coordinate with vendors/contractors as needed and escort them on-site. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workshop and storage areas. Respond to on-call or urgent maintenance needs during scheduled hours.
Qualifications:
2+ years of general maintenance or facilities experience in hospitality, club, resort, or similar setting preferred. Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building systems. Pool operation experience preferred General construction knowledge is a plus. Ability to read and follow work orders, manuals, SDS, and safety procedures. Comfortable using hand/power tools, ladders, and light equipment (pressure washer, paint sprayer, wet/dry vac). Strong attention to detail, reliability, and customer service mindset. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and insurance and ability to pass a background check. Own needed tools Demonstrated quality verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations and comfortable with a variety of repair tasks. Physical Requirements Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 lbs. Stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and climb ladders for extended periods. Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather
