Opportunity OverviewPosition DetailInformationJob TitleMaintenance Purchasing SpecialistLocationWest Liberty, IOwaShift1stBase Hourly Wage Range $21.37 - $28.00 per hour depending on experienceShift PremiumNoneJob SummaryThe Maintenance Purchasing Specialist is responsible for securing necessary maintenance parts and other maintenance related items for the facility maintenance and operations. Will source items while managing vendor relationships, negotiating price/agreements and managing inventory levels of critical spare parts.

Key ResponsibilitiesCreate Purchase OrdersAssist the MMS Supervisor with maintaining proper inventory levels of materials/parts used on a regular basis.

Work with the inventory management team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned purchase orders and report any back-ordered or missing items.

Monitor Open Purchase Orders.

Search for cost savings of inventory items.

Maintaining relationships with existing suppliers while seeking new ones.

Negotiate pricing with vendors.

Create new parts in L2L and assign part numbers.

Verify prices on POs with order acknowledgements from vendors and adjust costs on POs.

Expedite orders and track shipments as needed.

Research and correct invoice issues with Accounts Payable and vendors.

Reconcile packing slips with purchase orders and file.

Provide direction for runners on their daily schedule.

Drive continual improvement in quality, productivity, efficiency and cost.

Ensure compliance with all safety regulations.

Partner with all departments of the organization.

Other duties as assigned.
Job RequirementsExperience:
At least 2 years of experience in a related position is preferred.
Skills:
Must be able to work independently without constant supervision. Must be able to perform basic math. Must have good customer service skills. Strong negotiation skills is a must. Experience in inventory management software is preferred, L2L is a plus. Must have computer skills to communicate and process data. Able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Ability to problem solve. Must be able to work with other departments and follow all food safety guidelines and HACCP requirements.
Age:
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
Authorization:
Must be authorized to work in the United States; no sponsorships are available.
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Flexibility:
Must be able to work weekends as needed. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
Compliance:
Must practice good personal hygiene. Candidates must successfully pass a post-offer/pre-employment drug test, background screen, physical and E-Verify.
