Non-exempt/Hourly Job Summary Works with administration in planning and developing plans for growth and development. Operates within the constraints of the department budget. Responsibilities include supervision of the operation and maintenance of vehicles, equipment, machinery and maintenance of the grounds. Monitors safety requirements meeting all OSHA standards and other standards set by the DOH for health care and long term facilities. Coordinates with outside contractors when needed. Moves equipment and furniture as needed. Maintains hospital grounds including parking lots, stairs, driveways, sidewalks, railing, etc. Reports safety hazards and corrects problems immediately. Provides repairs as requested. Provides staff on call for coverage of facility at all times; utilizes "call" in an efficient manner. Provides and plans proper security measures for the facility. Provides customer service to patients in a polite and professional manner. Represents the organization in a positive manner focusing on the goals and mission of the facility at all times. Education/Training and Experience High school degree with three years maintenance or other related management experience. Special Equipment/Skills Knowledge of use and maintenance of tools and equipment; basic knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing systems and safety skills. Ability to use a personal computer and calculator. Must be accurate and have good organizational skills. Work Environment Hazards Exposure to machinery, chemicals, loud noises, closed in spaces, heights, extreme temperatures. Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens, odors and communicable diseases. May work outside for long periods of time in all weather. Work Contact Group All employees in the facility, patients, residents and their families, visitors to the facility, contracted maintenance services. Special Physical Demands Walks and stands for most of the working day. Stoops, reaches, kneels, lifts, crawls in small spaces and climbs ladders.
