Job Title:
Maintenance Technician Job Description The Maintenance Technician will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain semi-automated manufacturing equipment to support safe, efficient, and reliable production operations. This role uses a structured problem-solving approach to resolve equipment issues, performs preventive and planned maintenance, and supports the installation and validation of new machinery. The technician will collaborate closely with production and engineering teams, maintain accurate documentation, and identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and process efficiency. Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair semi-automated manufacturing equipment using a structured and methodical problem-solving approach. Perform preventive and planned maintenance activities during production to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Participate in the installation, startup, and validation of new equipment in collaboration with engineering and production teams. Conduct detailed equipment failure analysis and implement permanent corrective actions to prevent recurring issues. Maintain accurate and timely maintenance documentation and records in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs). Ensure full compliance with all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards within the facility at all times. Identify and recommend equipment and process improvements to increase reliability, throughput, and overall efficiency. Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation to support troubleshooting and repairs. Support team members and collaborate across departments to quickly resolve production issues and restore equipment to service. Lead maintenance projects, mentor junior technicians, or assist with training activities as needed. Perform additional maintenance duties or special projects as assigned to meet operational needs. Essential Skills 3-5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Proven experience troubleshooting and repairing semi-automated manufacturing equipment. Strong electrical troubleshooting skills with the ability to safely diagnose and repair electrical issues. Hands-on experience with mechanical systems, including moving parts, drives, and assemblies. Working knowledge of pneumatic systems used in manufacturing equipment. Ability to perform preventive and planned maintenance on production machinery. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use a structured approach. Ability to work under pressure and respond with urgency to production-critical issues. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation. Effective collaboration skills to work with production, engineering, and other cross-functional teams. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics in an industrial setting. Experience in maintenance within a manufacturing or production environment. Experience maintaining accurate maintenance logs, records, and documentation in line with SOPs. Ability to mentor junior technicians or assist with technical training. Experience leading or supporting maintenance-related projects or equipment upgrades. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a manufacturing facility with semi-automated production equipment and a strong focus on safety, quality, and housekeeping standards. You will work hands-on with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, using technical documentation, drawings, and schematics to guide your work. The environment is fast-paced and production-driven, requiring the ability to respond quickly to equipment issues and perform maintenance during active production. Work may involve standing for extended periods, accessing machinery, and using standard industrial tools and test equipment in a shop and production-floor setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Butler, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
