COMPANY OVERVIEW
Matcor-Matsu Group is a fully integrated supplier of engineering and manufacturing services for automotive OEM customers. The company specializes in complex assemblies and stampings for body-in-white, interior, and seating applications. With manufacturing and technology facilities across Canada, the United States, and Mexico, our team supports the fast-paced automotive industry through advanced engineering, metal stamping, welding, and assembly capabilities SUMMARY Perform duties related to the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and operation of manufacturing equipment and facility systems including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic components. Support production operations by ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment within metal stamping, welding, and assembly operations. Solid electrical troubleshooting experience is required for this position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment and facility systems used in metal stamping, welding, and assembly processes. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic issues to minimize equipment downtime and support continuous production operations. Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic prints, schematics, manuals, and controls. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities on presses, tooling, conveyors, feeds, transfers, and related manufacturing equipment. Maintain and repair facility equipment including HVAC systems, compressors, plumbing systems, forklifts, and other plant equipment as required. Ensure proper lockout/tagout and stored energy control procedures are followed to maintain the safety of employees, equipment, tooling, and dies during maintenance activities. Support equipment improvements and assist in identifying root causes of equipment failures and process inefficiencies. Work collaboratively with production associates, supervisors, and maintenance team members to support operational efficiency and minimize downtime. Conduct all activities in a professional and ethical manner consistent with company expectations regarding safety, teamwork, and respectful treatment of others. Perform other duties as assigned. COMPETENCIES
Class A Technician Independent ability to fully read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic prints and schematics. Ability to write and troubleshoot programs related to die protection systems and motors. Ability to direct and support other maintenance technicians. Demonstrates all competencies listed under Class B Technician. Class B Technician Independently support maintenance activities for assigned equipment and machinery categories. Identify equipment issues and implement appropriate corrective actions. Support preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives. Assist in preventing equipment deterioration and process interruptions. Class C Technician Basic mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills. Ability to work under the direction and guidance of Class A and Class B Technicians.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent combination of education, training, and related maintenance experience preferred. Previous experience in industrial maintenance within manufacturing, automotive, stamping, welding, or assembly environments preferred. Vocational or technical training in electricity, hydraulics, pneumatics, machine repair, controls, wiring, or industrial maintenance is considered an asset. Experience with programmable controllers, electronics, and electrical troubleshooting strongly preferred. Ability to perform equipment and facility maintenance including: Electrical wiring Hydraulic and pneumatic systems Feeds, transfers, and conveyor systems Press maintenance HVAC systems Compressors and plumbing systems Forklift maintenance Strong teamwork and communication skills with the ability to support production operations effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability to perform preventive maintenance activities and support tooling and die-related maintenance operations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Employees are regularly required to stand, walk, bend, reach, and use hands and arms throughout the workday. The position may occasionally require lifting and/or moving up to 45 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is primarily within a manufacturing facility. Noise levels may range from moderate to high in production areas. Employees may work near moving mechanical equipment and may occasionally be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, heat, and industrial manufacturing conditions.
