Job Description

Maintenance Technician Pay Range:
$28-38/hour

Boring, Oregon Job Description The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of production equipment and facility systems. This position requires expertise in electrical troubleshooting and an independent working style. You will be responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and diagnostic maintenance, preparing equipment for startup, and handling lubrication and repairs as needed. The role demands strong troubleshooting skills to quickly and effectively resolve mechanical, electrical, and programming issues. Responsibilities Work safely at all times, adhering to company policies, GMPs, and SOPs. Collaborate with team members while applying mechanical concepts and being open to training and feedback. Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on processing equipment. Inspect equipment, identify potential failures, and take proactive steps to prevent downtime. Monitor machinery to reduce unplanned outages, resolve problems promptly, and look for process improvements. Support line startups and assist operators with equipment adjustments. Perform general building maintenance and repairs as needed. Keep accurate records of maintenance activities. Weld and fabricate parts or machinery when required. Partner with the Maintenance Supervisor to plan and execute routine and preventive maintenance schedules. Help onboard and train new team members, ensuring they're fully capable before working independently. Act as a point of contact for non-standard work, emergency repairs, and vendor coordination. Set the tone for safety, work ethic, and compliance with GMPs. Provide hands-on support when team members encounter challenges. Essential Skills Strong electrical troubleshooting skills. Experience with variable frequency drives, pumps and motors, conveyor systems, AC/DC controls, pneumatic systems, hydraulic and electrical components, refrigeration and freezer systems, electronic and boiler controls. Minimum of 2 years' experience as a maintenance mechanic. High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework is a plus. Solid understanding of mechanical systems, including chains, sprockets, gears, bushings, bearings, gearboxes, and other moving components. Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues effectively. Strong communication skills—both verbal and written—and the ability to collaborate with peers, supervisors, and managers. 8pm - 5:30am You will work in a GMP environment with a flexible schedule. The position offers both night and day shifts, requiring a commitment to safety and adherence to all relevant protocols.
