Cabinet Maker

Job Description

OBJECTIVE
Sets-up and operates a variety of woodworking machines and uses hand tools to fabricate and repair wooden structures and cabinets.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Many of the job responsibilities will be conducted in exterior and interior areas of the operation. Exterior activities will be carried out in year-round weather conditions. Interior work will be conducted on stage and back stage environments, including smoking areas. Work hours will fluctuate depending on projects, daily tasks and emergency situations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Always be NICE to fellow staff and players; find every opportunity to offer a friendly smile, wave and greeting Fabricates structures and fixtures according specifications. Installs cabinets and fixtures according to plan. Repairs damaged millwork items. Cleans and maintains equipment, tools and shop. Familiarity with safe and efficient use of a variety of woodworking machines and hand tools. Utilizes department apprentices to perform tasks and provide them guidance and training to further their knowledge in the trade. Understands and complies with federal, state and local regulations. Understands and complies with Facilities Department and Casino policies and procedures. Participates in training programs provided by the organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to communicate with supervisor. Ability to follow directions. Familiar with a variety of cabinetmaking concepts, practices and procedures. Experience in using a variety of cabinetmaking tools and equipment. Ability to interpret, understand and perform tasks utilizing blueprints. Ability to make rational and effective decisions on the job. Ability to diagnose and resolve problems. Proficient in cabinetmaking. Friendly and courteous personality. Able to work under minimal supervision.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Requires high school diploma or GED Completed an apprenticeship and/or formal training in cabinetmaking.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
At least 6 years of experience in cabinetmaking.
