In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining shop cleanliness, learning and using hand tools, and supporting the overall operation of our cabinet facility. Your enthusiasm and self motivation are a must. You will be learning and working with our shop foreman. We build only the best quality cabinets in San Diego so we take pride in our reputation. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in the carpentry field and cabinet making arena. Responsibilities Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop, including sweeping, removing scrap, emptying trash, organizing, materials, and keeping work area is clear. Assist the shop, foreman and cabinet makers with daily production and shop tasks Learn, proper use, care, and maintenance of cabinet-shop tools, and equipment. Safely operate approved hand tools and power tools after appropriate training. Learn to operate the edge, bander, including feeding parts, checking, edge, quality, cleaning the machine, and basic set up. Help load, unload and receive material Assist with cutting, preparing, labeling, and organizing cabinet parts Learn how to read, basic shop drawings, cabinet, dimensions, and cut lists Learn cabinet construction methods which include building and assembling, drilling, sanding and similar tasks. Can require driving at times to pick up material Requirements Must have a reliable vehicle Knowledge of safe work practices Familiarity with vehicle paint correction, buffing, and exterior washing techniques is highly desirable Prior experience in cabinetry is a plus Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout shifts Strong attention to detail with a focus on being highly motivated and quality standard Basic understanding and use of hand tools and woodworking Join us to be part of a team dedicated to delivering top-tier custom cabinets!
