Cabinet Maker / Millwork Technician Coastal Wood Design — Northern Michigan About Us Coastal Wood Design is a custom millwork shop based in Northern Michigan. We build custom cabinetry, doors, shelving, built-ins, and specialty millwork for high-end residential projects throughout the Petoskey, Charlevoix, Boyne City, and Traverse City region. We take pride in hands-on craftsmanship and a team that genuinely cares about the quality of what leaves the shop. The Role We're looking for an experienced Cabinet Maker / Millwork Technician to join our crew. This is a senior-level position for someone who knows their way around a shop, works clean, and takes ownership of their work from raw material to finished product. Our shop lead handles design — your job is to build it right. What You'll Do Fabricate and assemble custom cabinets, doors, shelving, and built-in millwork. Read and interpret shop drawings and cut lists accurately. Mill, cut, join, and finish hardwoods and sheet goods to tight tolerances. Operate and maintain standard shop equipment safely. Apply finishes, veneers, edge banding, and hardware with attention to detail. Coordinate with the shop lead on sequencing, materials, and project timelines. Keep a clean, organized, and safe work environment. What We're Looking For 5+ years of hands-on cabinet making or millwork experience. Strong foundation in wood joinery, material selection, and finishing techniques. Ability to work from shop drawings without constant supervision. Reliable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in quality output. Experience with custom residential work is a plus. Schedule Monday through Thursday, 10-hour shifts. Three-day weekends every week. $25.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
