SAFCORE Design + Build Studio SAFCORE is a fast-paced design-build studio located in Long Island City, Queens. We are seeking a designer who can communicate effectively with fabricators and clients while helping ensure the successful execution of built projects ranging from custom furniture and millwork to interiors and temporary events. Role and Responsibilities Create spatial drawings, 3D models, and diagrams to support all phases of a built project, including site surveying, design development, fabrication, and installation. Make decisions related to construction processes and materials, and prepare documents that clearly communicate design details to in-house fabricators. Translate complex geometries into systems that can be fabricated using a combination of traditional methods and CNC milling. Design and prototype custom digitally fabricated structures as required. Assist with project management, construction oversight, and installation, including hands-on participation. Weekend work may be required depending on the project. Perform basic studio and shop maintenance between projects. Apply hands-on carpentry skills and safely operate a table saw and other shop tools. Key Skills Precise measurement and fabrication skills Proficiency in Rhino 3D and 2D drafting Architectural site documentation Graphic and visual communication using Adobe Creative Suite Ability to lead large fabrication and installation teams Strong attention to aesthetic, structural, and logistical details Problem-solving and multitasking under pressure Knowledge of construction processes and materials Basic hands-on carpentry skills, including comfort using a table saw and other shop tools Please send a resume, portfolio, and examples of built work to: [email protected]
