Kitchens, Bars, Closets, etc. Knowledge in millwork, home construction, or furniture industry is preferred. Background in automotive finishing would be considered.
Responsibilities:
Preparing parts: Must understand how to sand a variety of materials including veneer, solid wood, MDF, and primer, as well as scuffing between stains and top coats. Use and maintain spray equipment including cup guns, pressure pots, HVLP's, etc. Take ownership and responsibility for assigned projects from start to completion over several weeks, facilitating organized information flow at all times, from customer to down-stream company departments. Complete tasks and projects within the budgeted hours assigned. Communicate clearly and follow daily instructions given by project manager. Interact, collaborate, and converse with clients, demonstrating exceptional customer service, professionalism, and discretion at all times. Perform other duties as assigned. Keep work area clean and orderly on a daily basis.
Knowledge and Skills required:
Minimum two years of experience finishing in a production setting. Advanced finishing skills including color matching, knowledge of products (water/oil based stains, lacquers, varnishes, pigmented coatings, primers, water based top coats, urethanes, etc) Must have a working knowledge of basic materials such as solid wood, veneer, MDF, etc. Attention to detail is a must. Ability to understand shop drawings of furniture and millwork products. Must be in good physical condition with no limits on bending, walking, standing and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Well organized & willingness to teach an apprentice if necessary. Experience in the millwork, home construction, or furniture industry is strongly preferred but not required for the well qualified candidate.
