Job Description

Supernal Painting —

Nashville, TN Starting Pay:

$20.00+ per hour Full-Time | 1-2 Positions Available Supernal Painting is hiring 1-2 experienced tradespeople to join our growing team in Nashville. Our immediate need is for people with strong cabinet and spray-finishing experience , but this is a hands-on position that will currently work across several areas of our business, including cabinet finishing, custom cabinetry, woodworking, installation, interior painting, and finish-related construction work. We have a strong project pipeline and are specifically looking for people who already know what they're doing and can contribute quickly. This is not intended to be an entry-level position where we teach someone the trades from scratch. If you're an experienced finisher, cabinetmaker, carpenter, installer, or painter with a broad skill set, we'd like to hear from you. What You'll Be Doing The workload varies depending on our current projects and may include: Cabinet refinishing and finishing Spraying primers, pigmented finishes, clear coats, stains, and sealers Sanding, filling, caulking, masking, and surface preparation Custom cabinet and built-in fabrication General woodworking and millwork Cabinet assembly and modification Cabinet and built-in installation Installing trim, panels, moulding, and finished components Interior painting Drywall patching and repair Finish carpentry On-site touch-ups and punch-list work Shop preparation and production work Maintaining tools, spray equipment, and work areas Our long-term direction is increasingly focused on premium finishing and specialty interior finishes , but at this stage of our growth, our project pipeline is broad. Team members should be comfortable moving between shop finishing, woodworking, installation, and on-site projects as needed. Who We're Looking For We are looking for someone with professional trade experience , not simply someone interested in learning the industry. Ideal candidates may have experience as a: Cabinet finisher Wood finisher Cabinetmaker Finish carpenter Cabinet installer Millwork installer Furniture finisher Spray finisher Experienced residential or commercial painter Automotive or industrial spray technician with transferable finishing skills You do not necessarily need to be an expert in every category listed above. Strong finishing ability is particularly valuable to us. Someone who is excellent at spraying and finishing but has only moderate woodworking experience may still be a great candidate. Likewise, an experienced cabinetmaker or installer who understands finishing and wants to expand that skill set may be a strong fit. Finishing Experience Strong candidates should be familiar with some or all of the following: Professional spray equipment HVLP, airless, and/or air-assisted airless spraying Proper sanding and surface preparation Spray gun setup and adjustment Primers and pigmented cabinet coatings Clear coats and sealers Stain application Waterborne coatings 1K and/or 2K professional finishing systems Sanding between coats Identifying and correcting finish defects Producing consistent finishes across multiple components Experience producing high-end cabinet, furniture, millwork, automotive, or architectural finishes is a major plus. What Matters Most We care about three things: Quality

+ Production

+ Reliability We produce premium work, so quality matters. At the same time, this is a production environment. We need people who understand how to produce excellent work efficiently rather than spending an unnecessary amount of time completing routine tasks. We're especially interested in people who can be given a scope of work, understand the expected standard, and then execute without needing constant supervision. Compensation Starting compensation is $20.00 per hour and up, depending on experience and demonstrated ability. $20/hour is the starting point—not necessarily the ceiling. Someone who demonstrates exceptional ability, speed, versatility, and the ability to independently complete high-quality work can earn more. Over time, we are also interested in moving strong team members toward a more production-based compensation structure , where earning potential is tied to the amount of quality work completed rather than being limited strictly by an hourly wage. Our goal is to reward people who become highly productive—not simply ask them to work harder for the same hourly rate. Requirements Previous professional experience in finishing, cabinetry, carpentry, painting, installation, or a closely related trade Strong preference for professional spray-finishing experience Ability to reliably commute to jobs and/or our Nashville shop Dependable attendance Ability to safely operate common power tools and equipment relevant to your experience Ability to work on your feet and perform normal construction/shop labor Comfortable wearing appropriate PPE Attention to detail Ability to follow established processes Ability to work independently Willingness to perform different types of work as project needs change Ability to maintain quality while working at a productive pace About Supernal Painting Supernal Painting is a Nashville-based specialty finishing and interior improvement company. Our work includes premium cabinet refinishing, architectural and wood finishing, custom cabinetry and built-ins, woodworking, cabinet installation, interior painting, and specialty interior projects. We work with homeowners as well as builders, designers, cabinetmakers, and other professionals, and our goal is to produce work that meets a high-end residential standard. As the company continues to grow, we expect our team's work to become increasingly specialized around cabinetry, architectural woodwork, and premium finishing. We're looking for people who want the opportunity to grow with us as that happens. To Apply Please apply through Indeed and briefly describe your professional experience.
