This position is for an exceptional architectural millwork craftsman. The right candidate will be a seasoned veteran in the fabrication of commercial architectural woodwork and casework. However, we are looking for more than just a woodworker. This role includes installations as well. OSHA 10 preferred. FWM|FabLab is a fabricator of high-end architectural features, millwork and casework for the commercial markets of Houston and the surrounding areas, meeting industry standards for excellence. We design, fabricate and install; working with all metals, wood and plastics for projects big and small.

Key Position Roles:

• Interest and care for design
• Fabrication of products from raw materials to finished goods
• Read, interpret and fabricate from prescribed professional shop drawings
• Review parts list and determine if all parts are present
• Assemble components, tools and materials
• Collaboration with peers and other departments to maximize productivity and efficiency
• Use of common sense and basic math (addition, subtraction, fraction to decimal conversion)
• Follow all company rules, policies, safety regulations, OSHA and quality standards
• Lift raw materials and final products manually or by using hoist
• Provide an exceptional level of attention to detail and focus on the given task
• Keep tools and work area clean and organized
• Complete preventative maintenance
• Check stock to ensure inventory is replenished
• Pick up and deliver raw materials
• Participate in project installations
• Collaborate with metal team
• Must be able to read and interpret shop drawings. Ask for information or assistance when something isn't crystal clear.
• Must be reliable and detail oriented.
• Knowledgeable of various wood species.
• Committed to providing exceptional quality while meeting customer deadlines.
• Ability to speak, read and write English.
• Able to accurately read a tape measure and work to standards of 1/64".
• Experienced in and willing to learn proper machine set up, break down and use in a safe manner.
• Problem solving.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 8 years experience in architectural millwork and/or cabinetry; commercial experience is non-negotiable.
• Ability to lift 45lbs and push/pull 150lbs for the majority of your shift
• Excellent time management, organization and independent judgment skills
• Knowledge of general shop processes
• Able to accurately read a tape measure and work to standards of 1/64"
• Ability to read, understand and fabricate from shop drawings
• Valid Driver's license and reliable transportation to work on all scheduled days If you are the person who is last to arrive in the morning or first to leave in the evening, you are not the right candidate.
