Job Description

Engineer the Details That Bring Great Work to Life Turn approved designs into accurate, buildable, production-ready cabinet documentation. At JA Eisch LLC, we don't just manufacture cabinets—we bring our customers' vision to life. For more than 13 years, we've partnered with general contractors, architects, designers, healthcare providers, schools, and commercial clients throughout Wisconsin to deliver exceptional commercial casework and custom architectural woodwork. As we continue to grow, we're investing in our people, technology, and processes. We're looking for a Cabinet Engineer who enjoys solving problems, developing practical construction solutions, and helping projects move successfully from approved design to manufacturing. If you take pride in accurate technical work, understand how cabinets are built, and enjoy collaborating with the shop and field teams, we'd like to meet you. About the Position The Cabinet Engineer serves as the critical transition point between approved design intent and manufacturing execution. This position converts approved submittal drawings into complete, buildable, production-ready engineering documentation. You'll own constructability, manufacturing requirements, field dimensions, installation constraints, material information, and production readiness. You'll work closely with Drafting, Production, and Installation to resolve details and ensure each project is ready to build. This is an opportunity to become an important part of a growing company where the quality of your engineering directly affects shop efficiency, installation success, customer satisfaction, and profitability. What You'll Do
  • Engineer cabinet systems from approved submittal drawings.
  • Produce accurate, production-ready elevations, sections, details, and complete construction documentation.
  • Generate complete material lists and manufacturing information.
  • Verify constructability and resolve manufacturing requirements before release to Production.
  • Accurately incorporate field dimensions and installation constraints into final documentation.
  • Coordinate engineering solutions with Production and Installation.
  • Work with Drafting to clarify design intent and resolve open questions.
  • Identify potential production or installation issues before they reach the shop or field.
  • Support continuous improvement of engineering standards, documentation, and department processes. What Success Looks Like
  • Produces complete, accurate engineering documentation that can be confidently manufactured and installed.
  • Maintains an internal markup rate of 3% or less.
  • Creates accurate material lists and manufacturing information.
  • Successfully incorporates field dimensions and installation requirements.
  • Reduces production and installation issues caused by engineering errors.
  • Communicates clearly, follows through on commitments, and works well across departments.
  • Takes ownership and continually looks for ways to improve. Qualifications Required
  • Minimum 3 years of cabinet drafting experience, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated success in cabinet drafting responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 3D.
  • Experience with Cabinet Vision.
  • Knowledge of cabinet construction methods, manufacturing processes, materials, and hardware systems. Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail. Preferred
  • Commercial casework or custom architectural millwork experience.
  • Experience engineering projects from approved submittals through production release.
  • Experience incorporating field dimensions and installation requirements.
  • Strong understanding of production workflows and CNC-driven manufacturing.
Experience coordinating technical solutions across Drafting, Production, and Installation. Why Join JA Eisch? We believe great companies are built by great people. At JA Eisch, you'll join a team that values accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and doing the job right the first time. We invest in our employees through training, technology, and opportunities for professional growth.

  • 32.00 per hour, based on cabinet engineering experience and proficiency with AutoCAD 3D and Cabinet Vision.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Retirement plan.
  • Supplemental insurance options, including short-term disability, long-term disability, and life insurance.
  • Paid Time Off and paid holidays.
  • Structured onboarding and training.
  • Career advancement opportunities.
  • Stable, year-round employment.
  • Collaborative and supportive team environment.
