Job Description
Talascend is currently seeking a Chemical Operator for a contract opportunity with our client in Birmingham, Alabama. Overview This role involves operating basic equipment, carrying out routine operational tasks, and supporting equipment installation, maintenance, and repair within a strict adherence to safety and quality standards. The position includes working rotating day and night shifts, with training on standard day shifts before moving onto swing shifts every quarter. Responsibilities Operate basic equipment and carry out routine tasks following detailed instructions Assist with equipment installation, maintenance, and repair tasks as directed Support quality functions by adhering to strict quality standards Follow mandatory work instructions, including use of personal protective equipment Work within established settings or parameters to ensure safety and efficiency Qualifications Secondary / Intermediate education (2 GCSEs) or equivalent Experience working independently as a practitioner Effective elementary verbal communication skills Ability to interpret and follow policies, procedures, and safety guidelines under supervision Experience in planning, organizing, prioritizing work activities with guidance Basic understanding of safe systems of work and risk management Ability to review and create straightforward reports under supervision Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education
