Chemical Process Operator Location:
Birmingham, AL Pay:
$25.00/hour
Schedule:
Full-time, Rotating Day/Night Swing Shift (after training) We are hiring a Chemical Process Operator for a contract opportunity in Birmingham, AL. This role is ideal for candidates with manufacturing, chemical processing, pharmaceutical production, biotech, or industrial operations experience who thrive in a safety-focused, regulated environment. During the first few weeks, employees will work Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM for training. After training, team members will transition to a quarterly rotating day/night schedule (not weekly). Key Responsibilities Operate process equipment and perform routine production activities Follow detailed operating procedures, batch records, and work instructions Prepare solutions and materials for manufacturing processes Assemble, operate, clean, and disassemble production equipment Monitor production processes and record operational data Adjust PLC-controlled equipment settings as directed Perform environmental and quality monitoring activities Support equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting Maintain compliance with safety, quality, GMP/GLP, and company standards Use PPE and follow all workplace safety requirements Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Experience in chemical manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotech, industrial production, or process operations preferred Ability to follow detailed procedures and documentation requirements Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Comfortable working rotating day/night shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed Ability to pass a physical exam and respirator fit test Shift Schedule (After Training)
Days:
Monday-Thursday, 7:00 AM-5:00 PM; Friday, 7:00
AM-Noon Nights:
Sunday, 7:00 AM-Noon; Monday-Thursday, 5:00 PM-3:00
AM Rotation:
