The Coating Technician, Level I performs their duties under the direction of their supervisor or manager. Responsibilities Operation of sandblast cabinet and chemical stripping booth Organize and maintain consumables and maintenance supplies Conduct preventative maintenance procedures on coating chamber shielding in preparation for a cleanroom environment. Setup, load, unload and maintain coating fixtures Perform visual inspections of pre and post-coated optics for defects Measure finished parts using a variety of metrology equipment Will be required to use shop and power tools Participate in 6S activities which include but are not limited to cleaning, organizing, sweeping, and mopping work area May be required to use a ladder Strictly adhere to all safety procedures and protocols Other duties as assigned Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures and regulations Qualifications To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Required Skills & Abilities Ability to read and understand spec sheets, run sheets, routings, and work instructions Good math skills, including proficiency in basic algebra Basic computer skills including working proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word Education/Experience HS diploma Associates degree in technical discipline preferred Physical Requirements Adequate manual dexterity to perform essential functions; ability to use some physical efforts in the handling of heavy materials and machinery (most tasks require no more than 50 lbs. lifting); position requires about 80% standing; ability to work in manufacturing environment.
