This vital role involves ensuring the proper sterilization and handling of surgical instruments and medical equipment to support safe and efficient patient procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, knowledge of sterile processing protocols, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety. Responsibilities Clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment according to established protocols. Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies, ensuring availability for daily procedures. Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization processes and equipment maintenance. Adhere strictly to aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during instrument processing. Inspect instruments for damage or wear, reporting any issues for repair or replacement. Follow all safety guidelines related to handling biohazardous materials and chemicals used in sterilization. Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure timely preparation of sterile supplies for patient procedures. Experience Prior experience in sterile processing or surgical instrument reprocessing is preferred. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology enhances understanding of instrument use and sterilization needs. Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to surgical procedures is advantageous. Strong understanding of inventory management practices ensures efficient supply control. Proficiency in aseptic techniques and sterilization standards is essential for maintaining safety compliance. Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology supports accurate instrument handling and processing.
