Job Title:
Chemical Operator Job Description The position is responsible for ensuring personal safety, product quality, and production efficiency in the manufacturing of chemical blends and products as per customer specifications and schedules. This role involves operating reactors, filling, loading, and unloading systems and auxiliary equipment. The Chemical Operator must operate and document batch processes in compliance with GMP and OSHA regulations. Responsibilities Operate production equipment and monitor process conditions, key performance metrics, and control systems to maintain and achieve desired rates and conditions. Manage manufacturing processes including weighing and charging raw materials to vessels and tanks, and transferring products to storage tanks and containers. Complete raw material verification to ensure only approved materials are used. Adhere to company policies and procedures to ensure safe and reliable operations, following cGMP requirements. Read, record, and interpret data from instruments to adjust operations for efficiency and safety. Understand and troubleshoot key process variables impacting product quality and consistency. Maintain a clean work area to GMP standards and assist with general cleanup. Support company goals of zero workplace safety incidents and participate in EHS programs. Mentor and train new and existing personnel on process operations. Safely operate forklifts, lifts, and hand trucks. Provide technical support to chemists and engineers. Accurately document data on batch records, graphs, and charts. Assist with inventory management to maintain material supplies. Contribute to new chemical engineering processes or production techniques. Comply with all company and OSHA safety standards. Comply with all applicable FDA and quality standards. Essential Skills Basic computer, PLC, and math knowledge. Chemical production experience, including operating reactors, pumps, and weighing materials. Ability to manage multiple competing priorities effectively. Excellent decision-making and troubleshooting skills. Customer-centric approach. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School Graduate or GED. Forklift experience and GMP training preferred but not required. Initiative, integrity, optimism, honesty, diligence, stewardship, humility, and shared outcomes. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Detailed-oriented with good reading, listening, and comprehension skills. Work Environment The position requires working on a 12-hour rotating shift, alternating between 36- and 48-hour workweeks. Shifts may be from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. Training will last 4 to 6 weeks, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4 PM. The work environment is open air, and employees enjoy a full week off per month, generous shift premiums, and potential for quick career growth with technical training. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Piedmont, SC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
