Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Lease Operator to manage the day-to-day field operations of an oil and gas lease. This position requires someone who can work independently, understands gas lift production, and has hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting field equipment. The Lease Operator will be responsible for keeping wells producing efficiently, identifying problems before they become larger issues, and maintaining the lease and production equipment in good operating condition. Duties Operate and monitor gas lift oil wells Understand gas lift principles and recognize when a well is not operating or producing correctlyTroubleshoot gas lift wells experiencing production problems Monitor casing pressure, tubing pressure, injection pressure, gas volumes, and production performance Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot Ajax natural gas compressors Perform routine compressor inspections and identify operating problems Gauge oil and water tanks and accurately record daily production Monitor separators, flowlines, tank batteries, compressors, and other production equipmentIdentify and repair minor oil, gas, and water line leaks Change basic valves, fittings, nipples, unions, and other production equipment Perform basic flowline repairs and maintenanceStart up and shut down wells and production equipment when required Monitor lease conditions and immediately identify abnormal operating conditions Coordinate contractors and service companies when repairs or additional field work are required Maintain accurate daily production and operational records Keep locations, equipment, and production facilities clean, organized, and safe Perform general lease maintenance and cleanup Take ownership of all daily onsite operations Required Experience & Qualifications Applicants should have previous oilfield production or lease operating experience and must: Have strong working knowledge of gas lift wells Understand how to diagnose common gas lift production problems Have experience operating Ajax compressors Know how to properly gauge production tanks Understand basic oil and gas production equipment Be mechanically inclined and capable of performing minor field repairs Be comfortable working with valves, fittings, flowlines, separators, compressors, and tank batteries Be able to recognize leaks, equipment failures, abnormal pressures, and production problems Be capable of working independently without constant supervision Be dependable and willing to take responsibility for the performance and condition of the lease Maintain a strong focus on safety and environmental compliance
