The Role The Process Plant Technician is a position in the operation of SX/EW plant and tank house. Where in, the Process Plant Technician obtains and demonstrates knowledge of the process plant operation parameters and operating procedures. The Process Plant Technician supports and assists in all aspects of daily plant and tank house operation.
What You'll Do:
Participate in daily start of shift safety meetings. Perform daily workplace safety inspection of SX/EW. Collect and process copper, acid, nitrate assays as outlined in operator job responsibilities. Identify and generate work orders on safety, production and maintenance needs or improvement. Maintain data entry into computer and maintains detailed logbook. Facilitate off-loading of various product trucks into holding tank. Coordinate with shift supervisor to maintain plant parameter and proper operating procedures. Can assess and make adjustment as needed. Conduct daily circuit audit. Pond level monitoring and adjustment. Collect composite samples throughout SX plant and ponds daily. Deliver collected samples to lab. Collect can samples daily. Deliver collected samples to lab. Maintain a safe, clean, uncluttered work area. Clean up work place every shift.Desired Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Current Valid Driver License with clean driving record. Ability to maintain a positive, safe, team-oriented attitude. Maintain productive work ethic. Have good communication skills and be able to demonstrate understanding of received communication. Personally motivated to obtain and apply knowledge of SX/EW operation parameters and operating procedures gained through training, operator's manuals, work experience and mentoring from co-workers and supervisor. Basic Computer Knowledge. Basic Math Skills. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Will be required to work 7 days on, 7 days off work schedule. Work shifts are 12hr. or longer if needed. May be required to work outside in adverse weather conditions at times. Work is around hazardous materials, including sulfuric acid, kerosene, NG/LNG, and other chemicals. Required to inspect work areas and perform safety walk through evaluations daily, which will entail walking, climbing stairs, lifting, and bending. May be required to perform heavy lifting of 75lbs or more at times. Must be able to work night shifts, day shifts, weekends, holidays, extended hours, overtime and be available to be called out for shift coverage as needed.
