In this role, you will operate advanced CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machinery, including 5-axis CNC machines and CNC lathes, to cut and shape stone materials with exceptional accuracy. You will also utilize CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CATIA to interpret engineering drawings, develop machining programs, and ensure seamless translation from design to production. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine mechanical knowledge, precision measurement skills, and technical programming to produce high-quality stone products efficiently and safely. Duties Set up and operate CNC stone cutting saws, including programming using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and ensuring optimal tooling configurations for precise cuts. Interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and mechanical blueprints to determine machining requirements and ensure accurate fabrication. Develop and modify CNC programs using CAD/CAM software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA to meet project specifications. Perform precision measurements using calipers, bore gauges, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments to verify dimensional accuracy throughout the manufacturing process. Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, tool setups, inspection reports, and quality control records. Conduct routine maintenance on CNC machinery including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, 5-axis CNC machines, and electrical discharge machining equipment to ensure optimal performance. Collaborate with engineering teams on CAD design modifications and troubleshoot machining issues related to geometry or tooling setups. Follow lean manufacturing principles to improve workflow efficiency while adhering to safety standards and quality protocols. Requirements Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, or 5-axis CNC machines in a manufacturing environment. Strong proficiency with CAD software including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA or similar engineering CAD design tools. Knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code or M-code; experience with CAM software for toolpath generation is essential. Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and mechanical drawings accurately. Mechanical knowledge related to metal machining processes including tooling setup for CNC machining tools. Familiarity with measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision measurement instruments for quality control purposes. Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to optimize production workflows. Basic electrical knowledge relevant to electrical discharge machining (EDM) equipment operation is a plus. Strong math skills for programming calculations and measurement conversions. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on precision measurement in machining environments. Join us in shaping the future of stone fabrication through innovative technology and expert craftsmanship at Minicci Stone Company!
