FULL DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a CNC Operator to support CNC cutting, machine setup, programming, production, quality checks, troubleshooting, and material handling in a manufacturing environment. This temp-to-hire role is responsible for operating CNC cutting systems, reading technical drawings and CAD files, adjusting machine settings, monitoring machine performance, performing routine maintenance, checking product quality, and supporting production efficiency. The ideal candidate will have prior CNC operating experience, forklift certification, strong communication skills, and the ability to work 2nd shift in a fast-paced production environment. The selected candidate will be responsible for: Operating CNC cutting machines to support production needs Setting up and programming CNC cutting systems Operating Zund CNC cutting machines to cut PET felt material as needed Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, CAD files, and production documentation Adjusting machine settings, tool paths, and material positioning to achieve optimal cutting results Monitoring machine performance during production Conducting routine maintenance to ensure proper machine functionality Performing quality control checks to ensure products meet specifications and standards Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to CNC machines and cutting processes Collaborating with engineering and production teams to improve processes and efficiency Handling, loading, and unloading materials as needed Operating a forklift as needed Maintaining a clean and organized workspace Following all safety and operational procedures Performing other duties as assigned The selected candidate will also possess: 2+ years of CNC operating experience required Zund CNC machine operating experience a plus CNC setup experience preferred CNC programming experience preferred Strong understanding of CNC machining, cutting techniques, and material properties preferred CAD/CAM software experience preferred Adobe Illustrator, AutoCAD, or similar software experience preferred Ability to read and interpret technical drawings required Ability to read and follow production documentation required Knowledge of machine maintenance and troubleshooting preferred Forklift certification required Strong attention to detail required Strong problem-solving skills required Ability to work independently required Ability to work effectively in a team required Strong communication skills required Ability to take initiative and demonstrate a strong work ethic required Ability to handle materials and load or unload machines as needed Ability to work onsite in San Diego, CA Ability to work Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM Ability to support a temp-to-hire opportunity
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, stoop, push, pull, lift, carry, and move throughout production and CNC areas as needed Ability to stand for extended periods while operating CNC equipment and supporting production tasks Ability to use hands and fingers for machine setup, programming, material handling, quality checks, documentation, and standard production tasks Ability to handle, load, unload, and position materials as needed Ability to operate a forklift and related material handling equipment as needed Ability to visually inspect materials, cuts, finished products, machine performance, drawings, CAD files, and production documentation for quality and accuracy Ability to work around CNC machines, cutting equipment, production materials, shop activity, and standard manufacturing conditions Ability to perform repetitive motions while maintaining safety, accuracy, and quality standards Ability to wear required PPE and follow all safety, production, equipment, forklift, and material handling procedures Ability to maintain focus, accuracy, and attention to detail in a manufacturing and CNC production environment
