This position is responsible for setting up and operating machinery to manufacture precision related components. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC machinist who is comfortable working with complex, precision components and taking ownership of machine setup, operation, inspection, and day-to-day equipment care. What You'll Do Set up, operate, and monitor the an advanced CNC mill-turn machine . Read and interpret engineering drawings, setup sheets, GD&T, tolerances, datums, and critical dimensions. Install and secure workpieces using appropriate fixtures, chucks, workholding devices, centers, and steady rests. Load approved CNC programs and establish machine zeroes, offsets, and setup conditions. Perform tool setting, tool changes, insert replacement, touch-offs, and tool offset adjustments. Monitor machining cycles and make authorized feed and speed adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency. Perform in-process dimensional inspections using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, dial indicators, height gauges, and other precision measuring equipment. Document inspection results, lot information, adjustments, deviations, scrap, and other required production information. Monitor coolant, lubrication, hydraulic oil, filters, and other routine machine operating conditions. Perform routine operator-level machine maintenance, cleaning, chip/swarf removal, and daily inspections. Stage, transport, load, and unload raw materials and finished rotors throughout the production process, including heat-treatment operations. Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Production to resolve machining and production issues. Follow all safety, PPE, quality, and operating procedures. What We're Looking For Advanced CNC machining and setup experience. Experience operating complex CNC machining equipment; multi-axis and/or mill-turn experience strongly preferred. Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and setup documentation. Experience using precision measuring instruments. Ability to enter and verify machine and tool offsets and load approved CNC programs. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting/problem-recognition skills. High attention to detail with a commitment to quality and safety. Dependable and able to work effectively with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Production personnel. This is a union position.
